Highlights From Pepsi Florida Relays

  • The Xavier “X-Man” Carter is not to be left out of talk of fast times from rivals Wariner and Merritt. The former LSU sprinter ran a stellar 10.15 to win the 100-meters this weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainseville, Florida. John Capel ran 10.36 in his come back race on the University of Florida campus. Read IAAF

  • The former 400m Hurdles World champion Bershawn "Batman"Jackson won the open 400 in 45.55 over Calvin Smith Jr (46.11), the son of former 100m World record holder Calvin Smith. Read IAAF

  • David Oliver stormed to a 13.10 victory in the 110m Hurdles, pushed by a slight head wind in Gainesville. Oliver, a prodigious racer, indicated that his legal PB of 13.14 set at the Doha Super Grand Prix meeting last year, is under threat. Indeed, many hurdlers consider tailwinds as more of a hindrance than assistance. Read IAAF
