Kicks: Playstation AFI Inspired, Nike Shoe Monster

To add to the collection of upcoming Playstation-inspired sneakers. Nike will release these Shox Monster sneakers. The upper features black metallic patent leather with mesh and a gradient that goes from white to blue to purple.

Kicks: Nike Air Max 90 iD Liu Xiang

The new Nike iD Studio options for Fall 2008 and the models available. Shown above is the outcome of a pair iD-ed and received.

The kicks feature distressed metallic gold, metallic silver and the Liu Xiang graphic on the toebox. Other availale options include premium leathers with up to twelve colors to choose from, including the three hot colors of the Olymics, gold, silver and bronze distressed metallics.

For fabrics, three options are available, mesh in black, white and grey. The second option is a floral jaquard in two colors. The third is a “hero” option, which is a graphic inspired by Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang (only on the Air Max 90) available for use on the toebox, upper heel, tongue and lining.

Liu Xiang pulled out of the Olympics due to an injury, but is arguably remains one of the track biggest stars in the world.

The shoe is made of micro-suede, synthetic leather and reflective overlay are the three different options for the composition of the upper, however its the several choices in color which really gives consumers the option to make the Air Max 90 Current their own.

Usain Bolt Reigns In Golden Era

-How PUMA put the smack down.

The images are everywhere on television and online of Usain Bolt wearing the Theseus II spikes by Puma. It serves as a painful reminder to the executives of Nike and Adidas that they have been beaten.

The first blow was the sight of Li Ning, China's former Olympic champion gymnast, circling the roof of the Bird's Nest stadium to light the Olympic flame wearing his own line of shoes. Bolt hammered the second blow.

Bolt created an iconic moment as he crossed the line and held up the Theseus II as he circled the stadium while basking in the crowd praise. The world will remember his gold shoes, golden laces, and golden upper and soles.

Not only that. Bolt won the most highly anticipated 100-meter race in modern history. The results are legendary.

Three gold medals. Three world records.

PUMA received more value without spending nearly as much money as Adidas (reportedly $200 million) and Nike. Adidas star athletes in Beijing were: Jeremy Wariner, Tyson Gay, Yao Ming, and Veronica Campbell-Brown.

Nike tried to make some noise in Beijing with LaShawn Merritt, Sanya Richards, Asafa Powell, and Liu Xiang. But no one shined as bright in Beijing as the 6 foot, five sprinter.

The Jamaican national team is sponsored by PUMA, but Bolt is only athlete who is individually signed to PUMA.

PUMA not only has the hottest track superstar on the planet, it has soundly beaten Nike and Adidas in the shoe war.

Nike Dunk Trainer Low Invisible

There selection of Olympic shoes have increased this year compared to past Olympic years. The Nike arsenal of shoes features this Air Trainer Dunk Free. Only a few times has Nike used the invisible concept which features clear parts of the shoe which allow to be see through.

This shoe features a Pearl White upper, Gold flaked mid-sole and a Blue liner. The colors used are very nice, but the whole look is different, but hey to each his own.

Nike Air Force 1--Olympic Style

The Nike Air Force 1 is one of the most popular shoes that the Oregon-based shoe giant has ever produced. The Olympic Games kicked off one week ago and the U.S has already made some serious noise in winning medals.

Here is the latest Olympic inspired shoe. So what better than to take a popular shoe and then add red, blue and accented with it with a a gold swoosh. This shoe is available from Nike and eBay.

Nike's Growing Presence In Beijing

Adidas is the official sponsor of the Olympic Games, but Nike has a larger presence in Beijing.
This summer many spectators will have the opportunity to experience Nike’s obsession with faster, lighter, stronger products first hand at Nike’s House of Innovation, located at Nike 706, in Beijing’s vibrant 798 art district.

The Nike Swoosh is everywhere throughout Beijing. China is already Nike's second largest market and hit $1 billion in sales a year ahead of the goal they set.

The Oregon-based athletic apparel giant just opened a huge 13,000 square foot store in Beijing.

The Beijing store is the largest of approximately 3,000 Nike retail destinations now open in China.

There are huge pictures of NBA star Kobe Bryant rocking the Team USA jersey.

Milwaukee Bucks rookie Yi Jian is well represented, too. American NBA star Li Ning, according to my sources, has countless billboards and a very strong presence in Beijing.

The Nike stores are reportedly selling product that isn't available in the U.S.. The Air Force One shoes are featured in "Beijing" styles.

Li-Ning has more billboards and more of a presence than any other in the Wanfujing shopping district.

Nike is aggresively pushing growth in China.

Style Is King In Beijing--Liu Xiang Has A Shoe

In China Liu Xiang and Yao Ming are national heroes. As the summer track and field Olympic events in Beijing approach, Nike is honoring Chinese track and field athlete Liu Xiang with a pair of Dunk Premium Lows with gold accents.

Liu Xiang Will Need All The Help He Can Get

Hurdling is an art made of sprinting and jumping. Liu Xiang is carrying the weight of a country on his shoulders. The Chinese hurdler is almost on superhero status in his native country as he attempts to defend his Olympic title at the 110-hurdles.

Three years ago, Xiang partnered with Nike to have a shoe specifically designed for this historical run. A task force was assigned spikes for Liu, which normally is a privilege reserved for Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and Lance Armstrong.

Xiang will need everything to go his way. He is no longer the world record holder. In June, Dayron Robles of Cuba broke Xiang's record by running 12.87 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. David Oliver of the U.S. is another contender that the China superstar will have to deal with in the hurdle finals.

For Liu's Beijing shoe, Nike will combine the two designs that Liu wore when he won the Olympics and broke a world record. They will be a pair of spikes, colored bright yellow with a scarlet out-sole. They are called the Zoom Aerofly LX. To protect his right foot - the one attacking the hurdlers and landing first - Liu requested more thickness and padding at the heel.

The Zoom Aerofly LX is a revolutionary spike utilizing the innovative Flywire Technology in combination with a special synthetic leather in order to provide Liu Xiang with a featherlight shoe that provides maximum support.

If the Chinese hurdle star makes the medal stand, he will have to perform a quick clothes change. Adidas is the sponsor of the Chinese Olympic Association, so all Chinese athletes will wear the adidas "podium suit", even if they are wearing Nike gear underneath.
